Immune Thrombocytopenic Purpura (ITP) is an autoimmune disorder that involves the immune system mistakenly attacking and destroying platelets, which are cells that help the blood to clot. Symptoms that can arise from ITP include bleeding from nose and gums, black blisters in the mouth, bruising, fatigue, and heavy menstrual periods.
