Good Shepherd Foundation, the generous benefactor of the $50,000 match for our “Heroes Among Us” campaign, was created to help those in need. Philanthropist and founder Karen Iacovelli Forster says the foundation’s mission is “to pick up the broken and offer compassion and aid.”
While some consider charitable giving a way to ‘pay it forward’, Karen says she sees it differently. “For me, it’s the ‘now’ of joining the family of human suffering by offering hope and doing whatever is necessary to alleviate that suffering.”
“FLCCC exemplifies the mission of Good Shepherd and I’m in awe of Dr. Kory, Dr. Marik and the entire team of FLCCC doctors and staff,” she continues. “Your organization is forward-thinking and proactive. Truly. Against all odds, all have stood tall. It’s quite a story, and it’s my duty to help in any way I can.”
