Bipartisan Ohio House Bill 73 Makes an Important Step Forward in State Senate

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Ohio House Bill 73 advanced to the next important step in the Ohio legislature and will soon be considered by the Senate Health Committee. Testimony will be heard by the committee followed by a vote to advance the bill to the entire Ohio Senate.

The Dave and Angie Patient and Health Provider Protection Act, if passed into law, will protect the rights of doctors to prescribe repurposed drugs. This encouraging progress on bipartisan legislation will ensure access to essential treatments that were arbitrarily restricted during the pandemic.

The FLCCC is grateful for the leadership of the Bill’s sponsor, Rep. Jennifer Gross, who said this week:

“It is an honor to spearhead legislation with my joint sponsor, Representative Loychik, to protect access to life-saving medical treatments for Ohioans, shelter the patient-doctor relationship, and ensure healthcare providers feel empowered to treat their patients without fear of retribution. I encourage Ohioans to participate in continued calls-to-action on HB 73 and other Ohio medical freedom legislation.”

Our own Dr. Paul Marik, who testified on HB73 before the Ohio House Health Provider Services Committee, said this about the bill’s advancement in the Senate: “The bill is not only critical to the future of the practice of medicine in Ohio, but sets an example for the nation to follow.”
