What happens when well-intentioned doctors are being censored? More importantly, how does it impact the level of care patients receive? In this week’s FLCCC weekly webinar, our guest host Dr. Liz Mumper speaks to another censored doctor, pediatrician Dr. Renata Moon from Washington State.

The Curious Allegations Against Dr. Renata Moon

Dr. Renata Moon’s experience as a censored doctor is a prime example of the challenges facing medical professionals today.

Her alleged offense? Making critical observations and asking essential questions. Ever since COVID-19 came on the scene, that’s a problematic thing for doctors to do.

Dr. Moon’s questions were straightforward and warranted answers:

  1. Why is there an increase in pediatric myocarditis and adverse reactions following COVID injections in children?
  2. Why do health authorities strongly recommend COVID shots for children when their risk of dying from the virus is nearly zero percent?
  3. How can she provide informed consent without available safety information for the COVID injection, not even in the package insert?

As a practicing pediatrician and medical educator, she needed all the available info to do her job. Determined to seek answers, she flew to Washington, DC, at her own expense in late 2022 to voice her concerns.

A few months later, she received a letter from the Washington State University medical school, where she worked at part-time. They were none too pleased with Dr. Moon’s appearance at the DC event, which was hosted by Senator Ron Johnson and attended by many other concerned healthcare professionals.

Although she was not formally fired, her contract at WSU was not renewed, and the school went on to send a letter to the Washington Medical Commission suggesting that Dr. Moon be investigated. Those interested in seeing all the “complaints” against Dr. Moon should head to the Silent Majority Foundation to learn more.

Medical Students Are Afraid To Speak

Ultimately, the case against Dr. Moon was dropped and her ability to practice medicine was no longer threatened by January, 2024. So, no harm… but there’s certainly something foul going on in our medical system. Dr. Mumper states:

“There’s a difference in medicine now where our younger physicians, the interns and residents that train under us or the medical students, are in a situation where they are taught not to question things.”

Dr. Mumper recalls that the climate wasn’t always like this:

“I was a resident in the early 80s. I’ve been practicing for 44 years, but a lot of our education was built around ask questions, consider other possibilities, be able to defend your position, and I’ve seen as a medical educator myself this shift to following algorithms and following protocols.”

As someone who has been both a practicing doctor and a medical educator for her entire career, Dr. Moon has tremendous insight:

“I’ve seen what happens and I’m terrified by what’s happening. These medical students now, are for the most part not able to speak, they are not allowed to have opinions…”

Dr. Moon recalls that she would often debate other students and even her instructors when she was receiving her education. These days, medical students come to her and confess they feel like they need to “walk on eggshells”. In other words, doctors are feeling a need to self-censor at a rapidly increasing rate.

“How are these young people, who are just years away from becoming our new doctors, how are they supposed to function, to learn new things, to critically think… we’re in a terrible state, and we are heading rapidly into a position where things will just be protocol-driven, we clearly saw that with COVID but we’re going to get into even further and we continue to add things like artificial intelligent… we’re heading down a dark path if we don’t turn this around.”

When Doctors Are Censored, Patient Care Suffers

Nobody likes being censored, but it’s especially concerning that doctors are particularly vulnerable. When doctors are punished for questioning the status quo or making observations based on their clinical experience, the quality of care inevitably suffers. The suppression of free speech among medical professionals creates a chilling effect, discouraging open dialogue and critical thinking, which are essential for medical advancement and patient safety.

Dr. Moon’s experience is not an isolated case. Many doctors feel pressured to conform to the prevailing narrative, fearing repercussions for speaking out. This environment stifles innovation and hinders the ability of healthcare providers to offer the best possible care to their patients. As Dr. Moon highlighted, the reliance on strict protocols and the discouragement of questioning can lead to suboptimal outcomes, particularly in complex and rapidly evolving situations like the COVID-19 pandemic.

The situation is so bad that both Dr. Moon and Dr. Mumper have recognized that even parents are self-censoring when they head to the doctor’s office. If everyone on all sides of the doctor-patient relationship is censored or self-censoring, it’s easy to predict that the quality of care will continue to decline.
