I have recently experienced ceremonial cacao. I wanted to see if anyone else has ever used it? The active ingredient is Theobromine, used as a vasodilator, as an aid in urination, and as a heart stimulant. A ceremonial dose is at least 10 grams or more in one shot! Drink it on an empty stomach!

Why is cacao good for you from the science prospective?

Well for starters it has Theobromine, is used as a vasodilator (a blood vessel widener), as an aid in urination, and as a heart stimulant.

    Benefits:

Healthy Heart. Research suggests theobromine may help protect the heart in several ways

    Increased Energy.

Improved Cognitive Function (at least temporarily)

    Healthy Teeth.

    Good Mood.

    Cough Suppressant.

    Healthy Respiratory System.

    Reduced Inflammation.

What is ceremonial grade cacao? Never heard of it before.

My ND recommended Coco-moringa, which has cacao, as a hot chocolate substitute. It doesn’t taste quite as good as Swiss Miss but is supposed to be safe for diabetics.

    Great topic 👍. Thanks Kristina.

Just informative: Theobromine is in all chocolate (except in white off course). Milk chocolate: 150-200 mg/100 gr. Dark chocolate: 2 a 5x as much.

It’s the element why dogs can not have chocolate . It is toxic for them when they eat more then 2 gr/kg body weight.

Breastfeeding mothers best avoid eating large amounts of chocolate because the theobromine can make the baby irritable and can disturb the baby’s sleep.

I’ve never heard of or tried ceremonial cacao. I would love to know more about it.

I use cacao to make yummy bean brownie muffins.

Navitas cacao has it. I have unsweetened cacao in my morning coffee every day with some cinnamon, collagen, sometimes powdered vanilla and Supersweet from Trim Healthy Mama. It is definitely a ceremony for me.
