  Announcing Better Messaging

  We have finished upgrading the messaging system to enhance it beyond just a simple “DM” (Direct Message) system.

  Feedback Request

  We ask that users test these features out and provide feedback via the Communities Feedback Forum.  Please let us know about any bugs or blockers you discover.  We also want to know if a feature is annoying, difficult to use, in the way, etc.  If you have ideas or requests for additional features and uses, also let us know.  We may be able to add features or adjust configuration to enhance the experience further.

  Direct Messaging

  From your friends list or group member list, you can quickly message a user.  You also have various options for adjusting this chat, such as opening full screen, opening in the Messages screen, etc.

  Messages Mini-Widget

  In the bottom right of your screen (Desktop view only) you can also quickly get access to all of your chats.

  

   

  Inbox/Messages Tab

  You will get alerts via the Inbox icon on the top right and can quickly view recent message activity or go to your Inbox/Messages Tab.

  

  

   

  Encryption/Security

  Messages are now encrypted during transit and encrypted at rest.

  

   

  Chat Groups

  We have configured this to provide a Group Chat for our already created Groups.  Everyone who is a member of the Group auto-joins that group”s chat room.

  

   

  Custom Chat Rooms

  We can also create specific use chat rooms and embed them where appropriate.  For example, as a live chat for a webinar or other live events.  Example of this is coming soon.
