Hello, I was wondering if you could speak to the class action law suit against Listerine. This is a quote “A proposed class action lawsuit alleges the makers of Listerine Cool Mint Antiseptic mouthwash have failed to warn consumers that regular use of the product as intended can spark the production of certain bacteria known to cause severe infections and closely linked to various types of cancer.” This is the Listerine that the FLCCC recommend for Covid and wondering if just using it before and after indoor group activities for a few days could cause such infections. Thank you

I need to check this out since I started using this product about a year ago on a daily basis for regular dental care.

What a great question! – Listerine is noted in I-CARE RSV and FLU Treatment and the I-PREVENT: COVID, Flu and RSV

    Here’s a bit of info I found:

“A class action lawsuit has been filed against Johnson & Johnson and Kenvue Inc., the manufacturers of Listerine mouthwash, alleging misleading marketing and potential health risks. The lawsuit claims that regular use of Listerine, particularly the Cool Mint variety, may lead to the proliferation of bacteria associated with colorectal cancer.

Key points of the lawsuit include:

The suit cites a study suggesting that twice-daily use of Listerine mouthwash may increase the presence of fusobacterium species in the oral cavity1.
Fusobacterium, typically found in the mouth, has been associated with increased tumors in colorectal cancer patients.

The lawsuit alleges that Listerine does not warn consumers about potential risks and claims health benefits that may be controversial. It argues that the product fails to display warnings regarding cancer risk.

The case, filed on September 3, 2024, is titled “Vasseur v. Johnson & Johnson Consumer, Inc. et al.” and is pending in the United States District Court for the Central District of California2.

It’s important to note that while the lawsuit cites studies showing associations, there is currently no proven causation between Listerine use and colorectal cancer. Kenvue, the current manufacturer of Listerine, maintains that the mouthwash has no relationship to colorectal cancer or any other type of cancer.”

I’ll bounce this question to my medical colleagues and let’s see what they say.

Hi Dragonfly416, you got a WOW! from Dr. Marik, and very much the same response from Dr. Varon and Kelly Bumann.

So, after a review of the data, all of our documentation and protocols are going to be updated with wording similar to the following:

“Listerine should only be used short term, as long term use is associated with an increase in bacterium (fusobacterium) associated with cancer.

There’s a serious thank you from all of us. And it’s also a wonderful example of the power of the additional eyes and ears in our forums.

Thanks again. And anyone reading this, always know if you see something that needs a review, please mention, as soon as we see it we’ll get the review process all over it immediately.

    Brilliant! Thank you again.
