Hi- What experience is needed? How much technical knowledge is required? Approximately how much time would need to be committed? And what liability, if something should go wrong? Thank you.

If you have experience moderating online communities, that is definitely a benefit. Even something like a Facebook group.
Currently, the community is small, and these geo spaces are even smaller. To get a feel for moderating, I would recommend just reviewing posts and flagging any that are obvious violations of the rules, spirit, or health of the community.
There is no direct liability for our volunteer moderators.
